The Japanese Society of Interventional Nephrology was founded in 2013 and our national survey revealed the Japanese interventional nephrologists are performing approximately 50 % of both vascular access surgery, VAIVT and peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion (Clin Exp Nephrol. 2018). Our aim is to enhance and promote their skills and find the latest techniques and best treatment strategies in this field. Please join us and support our society.
The photo below is a commemorative photo of our society’s president, Dr. Ikeda, giving the final invited lecture at the “Interventional Nephrology” session at APCN x KSN2024 held in Seoul, Korea on June 15, 2024. To the left of Dr. Ikeda is Professor Niyar of Emory University, President of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASIDN), who served as moderator, to the right is Professor Hentschel of Harvard University, and on the far left is Professor Shin of the Catholic University of Korea. The implementation rate of interventional nephrology by Japanese nephrologists, their delicate techniques and deep knowledge were praised, and many questions were asked in the discussion section, resulting in a fun discussion with laughter.
