Japanese Society of Interventional Nephrology

Greeting

Masato Ikeda

The predecessor, the Interventional Nephrology Study Group, was established on July 13, 2013, with the aim of providing excellent medical care through the acquisition and study of surgery, interventions, and related knowledge and skills in the field of nephrology. We hold a meeting twice a year and all doctors and co-medicals who agree with our mission can join JSIVN meeting. Until March 16, 2024, 20 academic conferences have been held. During this time, we have conducted surveys and reports on the current state of interventional nephrology in Japan, published papers, organized symposiums at related academic societies, given lectures, and published a book titled “Practical Interventional Nephrology” by domestic experts. As a result, we believe that the term “Interventional nephrology” is becoming more widely used in Japan. To further mature and develop the new field of interventional nephrology, the Interventional Nephrology Study Group has decided to change its name to the “Japanese Society of Interventional Nephrology” from July 2021(UMIN Academic ID: A02379). Since then, the 16th to 20th academic conferences have been held by March 16, 2024, and the 21th academic conference (conference chair: Dr. Maruyama Yukio, Department of Nephrology and Hypertension, Jikei University) is scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2024. We hope you will join us as we continue to work under the motto of “respecting all participants”. Our members are composed of nephrologists, urologists, surgeons, radiologists, cardiologists, nurses and technicians who are performing interventional nephrology. Our aim is to enhance and promote their skills and find the latest techniques and best treatment strategies in this field. We look forward to your joining us.
